Dundulis brewers and Velželis Duona bakers decided on reconstruction of the oldest ever known method of beer brewing in order to revive the tradition of making the baked ale in Lithuania. We decided to give a more sturdy stamina to the beer, so we added a larger amount of baked malt in bread mash. Thus we came out with an excellent result: Twice as baked and darker than the usual baked ale, flavored with caraway seeds and fermented with Lithuanian Senalis (Simonaitis) yeast, which gave a real bread-like taste to Keptinis.
